Assignment 4: 3 Portraits, depth of field.

 Portrait of unknown individual; narrow depth of field: Jerry in the shade sitting on a bench on a public walkway.

Portrait of known individual, with great depth of field: Rebekah Sheperd (playful neice), having summer afternoon fun in the sun next to a cherry tree.

Protrait of myself (but not as my self), with narrow depth of field: Private contractors/Security contractors (Mercenary): A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict, who is not a national or a party to the conflict, and is "motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party". (Wikipedia) Equipment: AR-15 long barrel, head gear, plate insert body armor and outer shell magazine carrier. All gear is pertaining to earth tone colors (black and light tan). Cap design is a known design in the profession.

This assignment made me realize that getting that perfect focused image is difficult, and frustrating. The tripod worked well, white reflectors helped almost all photos taken and a purchased remote was very helpful for better focused images. The most important of all is the people in the people who are involved in the portraits.  Much thanks to Jerry, Rebekah, and the one who is not seen, Elroy Louis, who provided, educated, and helped myself on military background understandings and equipment knowledge for this self portrait (not me) to be successful.
